WANDERING FROM THE RIVER
There's a river you can float down... called the "SHOULD"-life. Its gentle currents tow you merrily, doing what you should do. Conforming. Fitting in. Punching the clock. Saying shit like, "TGIF"...
It's what we've all done, to some degree or another, in our lives. For protection, for safety, for comfort.
But what do you do when you awaken to the fact that, you aren't really living? You're just... riding along, being pulled, and the ride isn't so merry anymore?
START BY FEELING THE FEAR.
We are where we are because we’re afraid to be alone, the be in solitude. Or we fear the overwhelm of hatred and violence, coming to consume us, to hurt us.
If you don’t face the fear, learn to be present with it, and give it attention and care… it will either keep you forever on the path OR you’ll end up being driven back to the path at a later date by the fear.
Face it now, learn to be present with it now.
THEN, A SEED OF HOPE IS PLANTED.
Freedom from fear isn’t about eliminating fear. It’s about being less afraid of fear.
By practicing presence to our terror, the muscle of courage develops. Courage is the catalyst to begin a wandering journey.
The seed of courage germinates and sprouts. Growth begins. Authentic joy stirs. The sun shines on your limbs. Warmth... energy… empowerment
Suddenly, you know the way forward. It's time to begin.
